Story

Our Son Callum is 19. He has an older brother and two younger sisters. He has worked hard through school and has just finished his apprenticeship, he had the rest of his life to look forward too. He has now been recently diagnosed with a stage 4 cancerous brain tumour called Glioblastomer. This has devastated our family. He had to have a 9 hour operation to remove most of the tumour, but they could not remove all of it due to its position. He is now going to be undergoing daily Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. Callum loves art and drawing, and is very good at it. The fundraising will be used to buy some specialised artist equipment. This will keep him occupied, and do something what he loves to do and aid recovery. We have had fantastic support from our NHS, but there are limited options in the U.K so we are also looking at treatments that are not funded by the NHS. Some of the results from these tests could extend lives for several years. Some cases are even longer. Every second is precious. These Include immunotherapy, and DCvax, that is provided by the Harley Street Clinic. We are also looking into Care Oncology in London, that also offer private treatment. Other treatments in America, and other countries are also available. Including Optune. This research is ongoing, and these can cost in excess of £250,000 and are out of the reach of most people. This is where we ask for your help. If you could donate, that would be appreciated. However small, it does not matter. If you can't, thank you for taking the time to read this, but PLEASE SHARE THIS in your social media pages, By pressing the buttons at the bottom. Crowdfunding relies on shares to reach as many people as possible, and increase the possibilities of donations. We will try whatever possible to help our Son. We will be doing differnt fundraising events, including back to back Wolf runs, walks, mountain climbs, cake bakes ect. Thank you for all your support. It is appreciated.

We were told yesterday after his MRI, that he has another brain tumour. It won't be operated on, and he can't have any more radiotherapy. He is currently in the QMC. Today he has had a lumber puncture, to reduce the pressure in the brain. We have to now wait to see if they will put a shunt in his brain to drain the fluid. He will require higher grade chemotherapy. I may have to change the just giving page objectives now. Of course we are still looking for a cure, but we also have to look at the quality of life, and any equipment we may need.
