Story

I have the opportunity in June 2020 to go on a 4 week expedition to Costa Rica with Camp International . Giving me the unique chance to live and work on projects in local communities.

The indigenous communities of Central America have missed out on much of the economic development of the region. Terraba is the only local community not to have a communal area for families to gather and prepare food in a hygenic environment. One of my projects will be assisting in the building of a community kitchen which will be used by numerous community groups as well as a range of other community projects.

I will be raising money in a variety of ways including using my own birthday and Christmas money to secure my place, getting up to early on a Sunday to do a paper round and will soon be sending invites for a curry night to help raise money. However I wanted to a 'big' challenge, so I decided on the completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on the 15th June 2019 and I've roped my Mum and Dad into doing it as well!!

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent! It takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. I'd be really grateful for any donations. Thanks Callum
