My name is Callum stewart I am a year 12 student at St Thomas More in North shields I am trying to raise £1000 so i can join a 1 month expedition to Cambodia in 2017.I will be working amongst many other students from different parts of England in order to help the people of Cambodia and improve their environment and standard of living.
Cambodia has had a troubled past and still struggles with corruption as well as poverty.I am aiming to be able to travel to Cambodia in order to build school kitchens to help ensure the children of the school get at least one meal a day.we will also be building kindergartens to help improve children's education as many children have to leave school to help with harvest meaning they fall behind in education.The building of community toilet blocks will increase sanitation reducing health care issues. Cambodias environment is also suffering from mass deforestation endangering the habitat for endangered animals such as the orang-utan.Beach clean ups will clear beaches from the huge amounts of plastics and give the wast that can be reused to the locals for them to make jewellery to help them make a living.
