Next summer in June I will be taking part in the Samworth Charity Challenge for Walkers Charnwood Bakery. The challenge will take place in the Lake district next year, involving an orienteering style run with increasing inclines, a long distance bike route and canoeing (more details on the distances of each part will be found out nearer the time of the event).

As a company at Walkers Charnwood bakery we are aiming to raise £10,000 for a local Leicestershire Charity (not yet chosen). To help kick start raising the funds for the challenge, this month and potentially part of next month I will be taking part in my own charitable activity.

The charitable action is called #clappedcal, meaning I will be going for an ugly look throughout the month of November and possibly in December to help to continue the fundraising. For this month to get the ugly look I will not be trimming my beard or getting a haircut, and also not wearing jeans. If I break any of these conditions there will be forfeits that I will have to take part in.

We're now half way through the month but I've not had a haircut for over a month & a half and no beard trim since the end of October, so the clapped season is very alive 😂

The aim for each team at Walkers Charnwood bakery is to raise £2000 in your team of 4, so £500 from each team member. This is just one of the charitable activities I will be taking part in, so it would be great to get a good start from this towards the £500. I will be grateful for any donations of any size and the money will be going to a great cause in the local Leicestershire community. I will update the page when the company has announced which charity we will be raising for, but in the mean time please donate towards the cause and feel free to share this page.
