Story

Hello you lovely people.

As some of you may already be aware, my partner Terry's brother, Callum sadly past away in December last year in a tragic accident. Callum keates was an incredible person who was filled with love and care for others. Callum was diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was 21 and had experienced life inside mental health institutions. Since his death, his mother Sharon has been working tirelessly to start to set up a charity in his honour to help others like Callum.

When Callum was sick, he was given the opportunity to spend 3 months in a cottage by the sea and the family remember that during this time, he was the happiest and most inspired that he had been in a long time. Callum was lucky to have support from family to afford this sort of experience and Sharon's aim is to be able to provide other people who may not be able to otherwise, the opportunity to have a similar experience and break away.

The aim of this page is to raise money to help Sharon start a charity to provide a respite service for people who suffer from mental health issues.

As some of you may know, I had an accident in august last year which put me in a wheelchair for 4 months. I have had the most amazing support and care from my partner, Terry and his family, even in the face of their loss and grief. Although I was told by doctors that is unlikely I will be able to run again, I have continued to work hard on my recovery and will not give up.

Terry and I have signed up to do a triathlon on 17th September. It feels like the perfect event to challenge myself and also to use as an opportunity to help raise money for Callum's charity fund.

It would be so very appreciated if you wanted to contribute this and help us support the most wonderful and needed cause.

Thank you for reading.

Big love.

Harriet
