Story

This August Tom Ward, a friend from school, and I are going to Zanzibar for two weeks to teach and help out in the South East Coast International School. Tom has already been out there and raised money to fund the education of a child, and to help out in the local schools: more info about his own project can be found here.

The school was founded in 2015. Currently, the school offers nursery, preschool and primary studies. They strive to offer the highest quality international education and education support for the local community through sponsorship programs. Their goal is to open a secondary school to provide continuity of education for their students.

In order to raise funds for the school I have decided to undertake The Three Peaks Challenge at the end of June. It is a tough climb up the 3 highest summits in Great Britain: Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scarfell Pike (Lake District, England) and Snowdon (Wales). My goal is to climb all three within 24 hours, including travel time across the 650 miles or so between the mountains and play a set on the bagpipes at the summit of Ben Nevis!

I am to raise £1,500, all of which will go directly to the school and its outreach programmes, as my accommodation & flights to and from Zanzibar and travel up and down the length and breadth of Great Britain have already been covered.

Please sponsor me as much as you can to help to provide education and hope for the children of Zanzibar. Even a small donation to this worthy cause will go a long way to allow a high standard of education to reach the more impoverished communities in Zanzibar and to help this school to keep up the already amazing work they already do.

Thank you very much,

Callum
