On the 3rd of August 2024 I will be walking the Larig Ghru from Braemar to Aviemore. Following a route of about 27 miles.

The aim is to raise awareness, support and valuable funds for 4 very deserving charities. Mikeysline, Macmillan Cancer, Cardiac Risk in the Young and Brain tumor research.

As an added bonus I aim to do this while carrying a 50kg burden. As a way to make the walk that much more enjoyable but also as a symbol for anyone suffering from illness. As well as their friends and loved one's that share the weight of worry and unfortunately grief when someone they care about is affected.

There's is also a bit of selfishness involved on my part as having something to train for and work towards is a good kick up the arse to get fit and healthy again.

It has been a couple of years since I have taken on a fundraiser so thought a leisurely stroll through the hills would be a good way to get back into the swing of things.

If anyone would like to join on the day you are more than welcome. I cannot guarantee the weather or that I will be able to hold a conversation along the way but any support would be much appreciated.
