Story

Please help....

Donna, Deb and Terri are flying to Cambodia in November with the charity Transform Healthcare Cambodia. We will be spending lots of time in both the major hospital in Battembang and the rural surrounding community clinics teaching midwives, nurses and doctors skills for dealing with major complications in childbirth such as severe haemorrhage, elampsia, shoulder dystocia and neonatal resuscitation.

We will spend lots of time working with pregnant women, new mothers and their babies. Most women will live in extreme poverty and many will not afford things we take for granted; things like, clean knickers and sanitary pads following birth, toothbrushes/toothpaste, a sponge or soap for a wash after delivery. Many struggle to provide adequate clothing for their newborns (even babies in Cambodia will get cold easily!)

We have contacted the airline and so far have been denied any additional free baggage... we therefore need to raise some funds to pay for this. Any additional money raised will be converted into US dollars before we fly and we will buy essentials for these poor families once in Cambodia - we will pass them on directly to the patients we provide care for, ensuring they definitely get to the individuals who need them most.

We will also be collecting small lightweight items or toiletries and baby clothes to take. Any donations of pens for the medical staff would also be greatly appreciated.

Any one who has Small denominations of US dollars and can pass them on to us we will gladly accept these too.

Please, please donate however small it may be to help us make a small difference to these families that deserve a chance of happiness when giving birth.

Thank you so much from the very bottom of our hearts... Donna, Deb and Terri x x x
