Story

As some of you will know 'Period Poverty' is a growing problem in UK schools at the moment. Girls are missing out on their education due to being unable to afford menstrual products.

In a recent survey 1 in 10 girls were found to be in this situation with 48% of girls admitting to missing school because of their periods. We all know how damaging this is to their education. It would be my guess that the 1 in 10 national statistic is considerably higher here In Cornwall.

The Red Box project is a nationwide voluntary organisation started to try and combat period poverty in schools. It is purely run on donations and is designed to provide a discreet supply of free menstrual products for students by placing boxes in local schools.
