Story

I have recently graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and, as all graduates, find myself in a tough financial position. During my 4yrs there, I specialised in playing the baritone saxophone and would use the Conservatoire's instrument on an almost daily basis, as I do not own one myself.

Most of the work I picked up while studying was on baritone saxophone (including being part of an award winning saxophone quartet), however, as I am now graduated, I do not have access to one any more and the work has dried up as a result. This means a new baritone is essential for the progression of my musical career, but these are extremely expensive and I do not have the money myself to do it!

I am currently applying to several trust funds for money and also selling old musical gear I no longer need or use, but this will only fund part of the purchase so I am asking for help via just giving to give me that final push to a long awaited instrument. My initial goal is £1,000 but any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated and hopefully I can push beyond that mark to ensure I can purchase the best instrument for me.

I currently do little playing due to this lack of instrument and I miss it terribly, so I would be amazingly grateful to any kind of help that will allow me to pursue my passion of playing music for a career.

Attached is a link to a performance of a new piece written for myself by composer Max Gibson, specifically for baritone saxophone. I premiered it at my final Recital at the Conservatoire and that was the last time it was played and that I played a baritone. It would be great to have that feeling again!

Homage to Mr. Ai

Thank you,

Cameron
