Hi my name is Yvonne, and I am Cameron's mum (Cam to all that know him).....

I’m fundraising for three Charities in memory of my darling brave boy.

All fundraising will be split between three incredible cancer charities, whose support, research and care for cancer patients across Yorkshire is incredible. Personally, I could not have got through the last 18-months without their support and kindness.

The Charities are:

1. J94 Ward at St James’s Hospital, Leeds where Cam was a patient. This ward is for Young Lives – part of Teenage Cancer Trust. 50% of donations

2. Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) 25% of donations

3. Yorkshire Brain Tumour Charity. 25% of donations

Cam’s Story:

Cam had 24 incredible years. He accomplished more in those years than most… He was and always will be a legend to us. We will continue to keep his memory alive.

When we broke the heart wrenching news about Cam on the 24th June 2024, we received in excess of 500 messages via all the social media platforms – a true testimony to how much he was loved and impacted on everyone’s life.

Cam was a source of inspiration… living his best dream, fuelled with ambition to be the best he could be. And his infectious smile is what will inspire us for many years to come…

There is no doubt Cam’s energy and spirit will live on forever...

His battle with cancer took him on a very tough road, endless chemotherapy, major surgery’s and isolation treatment but he never gave up his fight, and never ever felt sorry for himself.

Cam wouldn’t want me to tell you about his painful cancer journey - he would want me to tell you about his life, and he did everything his way and along this journey he broke all the rules – and why not! When life gives you a word “terminal” you start to fight harder.

He went on some amazing holidays, ticked some of his bucket list adventures and he bought his dream car ….. he was not going to let cancer get in the way.

The day before we lost Cam, he was watching cricket with his mates, despite his illness he always kept fighting.

He loved his sport and was passionate about Golf and his beloved Leeds United.

He had his dream job, Dept Head Green Keeper at Horsforth Golf Club and although he couldn’t work during the end months, he always managed to get to the club to see everyone.

And my promise to Cam, is to always keep his spirt, memory and love alive for years and years to come. And to raise as much money for TCT / J94 / Yorkshire Brain Tumour - to make a difference to others!! It’s as simple as that.

Dig deep - cancer cannot take any more lives.
