Story
On the 2nd of March 2021, football was given the green light to start up again for the lower leagues in Scotland which was long awaited for myself. That afternoon I was sitting in a hospital appointment getting told the news that the results of a mole biopsy I had taken off my leg, was confirmed Stage 2 Melanoma Skin Cancer. Obviously this was such a shock and scare to my family and I, but it was also devastating as it would rule me out for the rest of the season. 10 days on from getting told the news, I met with the surgeon to discuss the process of my recovery which includes a sentinel lymph node biopsy and an op to take more skin away from my calf which may require a skin graft. The surgeon was very quick and able to get me booked in for the treatment on the 31st of March and the 1st of April which gives me two weeks or so of spare time which is why i felt that its a good time to raise money and awareness for the cancer i have been diagnosed with, especially seeing as it is rare for 18 year olds to have.
To raise money and awareness for Melanoma UK, I will be climbing Ben Lomond before the treatment begins on the 31st of March as I have not climbed A Munro before.
Please support me over the next few months, whilst I work to get back on a football pitch, and donate to my page if you can. Shares also appreciated as this has been life changing for me and I want to spread awareness and help the charity in any way I can.
