Welcome to the JustGiving page of Izzy Howson and Lucy Fish.
We have decided to run the Richmond Park half-marathon on the 10th of November 2019 for the Itala Foundation charity. It was founded by Amanda Jayne in 2016 in memory of her son, an ex Hurst student who was killed in a flying accident. Mrs Jill Silvey and Mrs Sarah Hyman help her run it.
Itala School in Mkushi, Zambia. It is a remote community school which provides a free education for almost 1000 orphans and vulnerable children.
The charity’s aim is to fund the school, orphanage and a nursery, and also to invest in projects that will make it self-sustaining in the long term.
There are only 6 classrooms and ten teachers, but the school has a 100% pass rate at primary level and has recently begun taking senior school students, who would otherwise have returned to the streets, or had to work on their families’ smallholdings.
The charity’s aim is to fund the school, orphanage and a nursery, and also to invest in projects that will make it self-sustaining in the long term.
Camerons Orphanage costs £12,000 a year to run so every penny raised goes directly to Cameron’s Orphanage Project at Itala School, Mkushi. There are no overheads. Everyone helps for free, and loves what they do.
We would be grateful for any donations, big or small, as it all goes to a very worthwhile cause.Thank you!
