I've raised £8200 to To help us make the final step to building the new clubhouse

A larger (135m2) new Pavilion based on a recycled mobile classroom, enabling us to welcome more visitors and players .Our current club house is only 4.5m x 4.5m, so when it rains (we play all through the year), only a few people can shelter. This means that, whilst we know there are many people in our area who would benefit from enjoying croquet, we are hindered by this lack of space.
A water treatment plant so we can have flushing loos and handwashing
Programmable irrigation system, with water reclamation to maintain our lawns to a high standard (in the past hot summers, our grass lawns suffered under the drought)
Croquet is a sport where members of all ages and abilities can play on equal terms. It involves outdoor exercise, play for recreation only or to enter one of our inter-club teams, and is easy to get started with support from our qualified coaches. We have a regular social calendar (Covid rules permitting)
• Think Croquet – Think Sport, Tactics, Skills, Team Play, Friends, Fun and a lot more
Our members come, not only from Peasedown St John area but also Bath, Radstock. Midsomer Norton and further into Somerset and Wiltshire.
With your support we can invite more people to take part in sport and gentle exercise – not forgetting the social aspects and be part of the Government’s initiative to get more people being active and to improve their health and well-being.
The total project will cost around £76,000 We have spent some £3,000 on planning and other pre-works and have money already raised from our fundraising activities over the past few years and this, together with a grant from The Croquet Association and other donations from members and supporters we just need to make the final leap of £8,200 to complete the project.
We are hoping to start initial ground works in April/May this year
