Story

Help Andy & Ian raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities when they walk the Camino de Santiago.

This year my health hit a all time low. At only just 5ft 4 and weighing in at 17 1/2 stone, I had loads of health problems. Apart from being morbidly obese, I was pre-diabetic, with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthmatic, continuously tired and unhappy. Here is a picture of me in February this year.

So I knew I had to make a serious health change. I set a challenge of 3 stone weight loss and a target to do the tough mudder on 19th May 2018. With help from Ian Kibble, we completed the course of over 10 miles, and can confirm it was tough, and I had hit the weight loss target.

We needed a new challenge, and decided that we should raise some money for some charities that mean a lot for us. My van driver has raised money in the past for organ donors, and is very passionate about raising more, but can not confirm joining us yet, so we will do it for him. Hopefully he can jump on board. As many of you know, I am passionate about water, and would like to raise money for Just a drop because I believe we all should be able to have access to drink clean water.

Our challenge will begin on 4th September when we will be walking a total of 10 days on the Camino De Santiago, finishing in Compostela de Santiago in Northern Spain. We will only be carrying bare essentials in back packs, and be walking the same steps as many of the pilgrims have, for hundreds of years.

We are setting up a blog page so you can follow our journey, and we will be posting regular video blogs throughout the days, of our progress, sights, feelings and thoughts. We will be Facebook live each evening, so please watch and send your messages of support.

Please help us in this challenge to raise money for our charities, and if you are a local business who want their logo on our shirts and banners please get in touch too.

Thank you.
