Story
Dad, Gregor and I are looking to raise some money for Pancreatic Cancer UK this November, which is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. We intend to split the funds received 50-50 with Linton Hotspur FC in recognition of the support the club has offered the charity in the past and also in lieu of the financial challenges it faces in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
November is particularly poignant for us having lost Mum 2 years ago this month to Pancreatic Cancer and we are eager not only to do this in Mums memory, but also to play a small part in helping to raise awareness of the illness and provide some much needed funding support for both the charity and the football club.
Over the course of November, we intend to undertake several challenges in line with the ''Take it On - Challenge 24' theme set by Pancreatic Cancer UK. This includes Dad and Jordi (pending recovery from his recent trip to the vets!) walking 24 miles over 4 days, running a 5k a day (which equates broadly to 24 miles per week), on 19th November (World Pancreatic Cancer Day) running 1 mile on the hour every hour for 24 hours and culminating in a 24 mile walk at the end of the month.
We are hoping to raise at least £750 for each of the causes which are both very close to our hearts in very different ways. Hopefully we can rope in some family and friends to join us along the way!
Wish us luck and thank you for any donations received!
