Weʼre raising £20,000 to raise awareness of and educate about the crippling welfare concern and leading cause of euthanasia of dogs - arthritis.

Story

Welcome to Canine Arthritis Management's (CAM) Just Giving page - a place where you can donate and support CAM continue their great work raising awareness of arthritis as well as educating dog owners and professionals on best management practice of this crippling welfare concern.

CAM is a self funded enterprise. Originally extensively funded by Dr Hannah Capon, our founder; CAM now relies on donations from the public and professions that they support having grown exponentially into a global advisory service.

CAM began as a simple Facebook page where Dr Hannah Capon would offer the public free advice regarding arthritis management. Through sharing the cases that she saw through her mobile veterinary service, she was able to not only help one person but hundreds of dog owners who learnt vicariously. It was not long before hundreds became thousands and then tens of thousands of owners benefitting from following CAM.

CAM is now an unstoppable force supporting dog owners around the globe, as well as training the professionals that work with dogs. CAM's website has been rebuilt and now offers an empowering member-zone. CAM's engaging social media is providing evidence based education to all corners of the world. CAM's tools, resources and downloads are used on all continents with routine requests for further translations. CAM is routinely asked to speak at international conferences and educational events, as well being invited to consult on developments in chronic pain management in the vet sector.

BUT....CAM has so much more planned, not least an equivalent service supporting owners of arthritis cats, another current welfare concern! New services, owner focused tools and education, as well as continued and expanded online support services to name just a few things are within CAM's sights!

"We believe that changing owner, vet and public perception of how to diagnose and treat pain in animals will lead to improved and extended lives for animals and their owners.

The CAM team, the CAMbassadors and the CAM followers have one thing in mind - to improve the lives of arthritic dogs and their owners!

We are looking to raise £20000 to continue our mission - "Arthritis is not the end of the road. It is just the start of a new direction!"
