Story
Kimpton, Thruxton & Fyfield C of E Primary School are raising funds for a memorial to Ian Tomlinson. Ian served as the Incumbent of our Benefice for 37 years and as such was an ex-officio governor of the school. We would like to have a lasting memorial in the school for all to see – present and former pupils, parents, staff and the wider community.
We plan to install a stained glass window in the School Hall where Collective Worship is held. The window will include a skylark (something which was significant to Ian) and will also include work by pupils.
We will be using a professional stained glass maker who has visited the school, agreed the site and will help with the design.
Our next step is to raise funds and once we have a budget we can then commission a design and the work will begin.
Once completed and installed, we plan to have an unveiling by one of the Bishops in the Diocese and all those who are associated with the school and have contributed towards the memorial will be invited.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated and will help in making a wonderful stained glass window to celebrate Ian and all the work he did for the benefice. If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact the School or me.
Thank you for your support.
