Story

For a number of years Capel Plough have supported St Elizabeth Hospice through their Woolly Pulley Campaign. We decided this year to do something 'more'....

From June to September 2019, Elmers Trail is set to feature around Ipswich, nine miles from Capel St Mary. The Parade will feature 50 individually designed elephants based on the much-loved children’s character, Elmer the patchwork elephant, and have a Young Elmer Herd keeping them company.

Both Elmer and St Elizabeth's Hospice are celebrating their 30th birthdays this year, and as Capel Plough Football Club are also celebrating a "big" birthday, the club thought that this is a wonderful way to commemorate our 50th year and to feature in the Young Elmer Herd.

Capel Plough Football Club has pledged to raise £750 for St Elizabeths Hospice, in return for a blank ‘young Elmer’ sculpture to design, decorate, join in the trail, and then keep to display at the Club. The values that Elmer promotes are deeply rooted into our Clubs philosophy with positive messages on inclusivity, courage and friendship. We hope that our contribution will be remembered by our future young members for the next 50 years of the club.
