Cape Verde has Talent (CVHT) 15TH JUNE 2020

Cape Verde has officially gained its independence in 1975

Sal Island, where we are based, depends solely on tourism. It is one of the 10 Islands in Cape Verde and it is the most touristic Island of all, with beautiful golden beaches and the jewel blue sea, it’s no wonder why.

With the repercussions of the current pandemic and with the total amount of tourists being zero at present, leading to serious unemployment, we remarked the undeniable need of helping the local community by hosting CVHT, not only to show cast the talent that Cape Verde has to offer, but most importantly to aid towards this cause which is dreadfully affecting the local community, that are really struggling to cope.

Tourists are always warmly welcomed by the friendly local community when visiting this wonderful country. Even before the current situation they work for truly low wages, on average about €250 per month. Now they NEED some help from all of us.

WE BENEFIT FROM THEIR COUNTRY, LET'S GIVE THEM SOMETHING BACK !!!!

THE FUTURE :

Sal has and will continue to drastically and rapidly grow. With many new businesses and hotels emerging, this Island has attracted a substantial amount of tourists to visit as well as for investing purposes. Sal has many foreign investors and is striving for more.

Although recent developments have added a dash of glamour, it has certainly not overpowered nature and the overall natural beauty that Cape Verde has to offer, from historical locations to pure peacefulness.

THE SHOW :

We are offering all locals, from all Islands to audition, in person or by video. First, Second and Third place prizes are awarded to the winners from our team while all donation funds will be distributed fairly and directly among the local population of Sal Island, contributing towards food, cash, medicine, shopping and bills, which will also be streamed live to conclude our project.

This is an exclusive event in Cape Verde and will be held at Frankie's Bar, in Sal. We will be streaming the show live, across different platforms and we welcome all kind donators to tune in!

CVHT will be hosted by Arsenio and Kevin (Cape Verde's equivalent to our beloved Ant and Dec), and will last for 6 days. The following week we will be working on recording our team visiting and gifting all donation funds to our necessitous local families around the island.

Our panel of judges will be present however we welcome audience participation via social media. We will commence at 18:00 local time, 20:00 GMT and 21:00 EET. The duration of CVHT will be between 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on contestants and performances. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded.

Our aim is to simply provide necessities to those in great need while finding Cape Verdean talent which we hope could go much further in the long run!

We are working closely with a local Charity (Caritas) for this project as well as with any future projects.

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING; We aspire to carry our various projects further in the future and make Cape Verde a better place as a whole, especially for the local community.

The show was a success and we managed to raise funds to buy food for the local community and was handed out through a local charity "Caritas". Thank you very much to all the wonderful people that contributed with the show and thanks for all the donations.

We are now working on other ways to raise funds & will continue to work with Caritas.
