Hello Captain Durham here I bet you’re all wondering how this came about and the story behind the shield.

2020 was horrible year, a year non of us could of expected to happen. Throughout this year my late courageous wife Ginette was battling stage 3 cancer.

In 2015 she was diagnosed with breast cancer bossed treatment and rang that bell!!

In 2018 she was diagnosed with a new breast cancer kicked its arse completed treatment and rang that bell!

In 2019 she was diagnosed yet again with a new breast cancer, treatment didn’t go to plan and we received the awful phone call to tell us that the cancer had spread to her lung and spine.

11 months later at the end of 2020 my beautiful wife just couldn’t fight any more.

Even on her worst days she was always putting everyone else first. Particularly me and fretting over me looking after myself. Making sure I had nothing to worry about when the time came.

Even writing up my favourite meals she used to cook.

She was such an amazing woman, kind, caring, selfless, loyal and one heck of a cook. She loved her fur babies Marvin & Missy. She loved a good book or several hundred good books hehe

Photo and updates of what the grandkids and her niece were getting up to honestly made her days in lockdown and not being able to see people as normal.

During this time my Step Father in Law passed from cancer and my father in law passed.

January 2021 my father passed which was a further shock to the system. It was round about then that the I spotted The Cap Mobile online.

I had been watching a man online in America The Colorado Captain who drives around dressed as Captain America raising money for children’s charities.

So there Captain Durham was born.

The Cap honestly has been a saving grave and has gave me focus at point when I was wondering what the point was anymore.

I love doing this, getting out there and making people smile. We need more of that in the world at the moment. So if I can go out and make 1 person smile then I’ve done my job and it lifts me and makes my day.

Cancer is still effecting our family today, my poor mum was in hospital when my father passed just this passed couple of weeks she was told that her cancer has spread to her liver!

I want to raise as much money as possible! This awful disease is affecting so many families 😔 Let’s All ‘Assemble’ and kick cancers butt 👊

Ginette would love this, she would be laughing saying ‘what are you up to now’

This is the start of her legacy because she made the world a better place by being in it and I want to continue the positive impact her life had on this world.

So please anything you can give would be so gratefully received. Money raised will be going towards various cancer charities.
