Story
Lance is a 17 year old boy who is a member of the 1st Birmingham Boys' Brigade Company. Whilst working towards his Queens Badge, for the past 2 years, the highest award in the Boys' Brigade, he has shown how good he is working with the younger boys of the company. He is caring, supportive and shows them empathy. He is a student in a local sixth form and he has been chosen to be part of a group to take part in an educational sailing trip. They will be sailing from Hartlepool to Peterhead with a group of autistic children and will act as their mentors and supporters. We have boys in the 1st who have additional needs and Lance has learnt how to support them and to understand their needs so I believe this will be an amazing opportunity for him help these children have an experience of a lifetime. As Lance's Captain, I am supporting his campaign because I am passionate about giving children and young people opportunities they may not otherwise be able to have, something we do as a company too.
