Story
On the 20th and 21st June 2025 Capture The Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour Charity will run its first official fundraising event. Supporters of the charity will gather in Hampsthwaite, England to take part in a 24 hour ‘Swim and Stitch’.
As the first charity in the world dedicated to making a difference to those with this rare sarcoma and their loved ones, we need your help to make a difference.
DSRCT has only a 15% 5 year survival rate. With no internationally agreed on treatment protocol, DSRCT typically borrows treatments from other cancers. It is vital that DSRCT specific research is carried out.
Having recently funded our first piece of research, we are now working towards our second which will focus on ensuring that those with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour can live a full life for as long as possible; focusing on the management of side effects and ensuring that palliative care is about Living not dying.
We can’t do this without your help!
Please support our intrepid team of swimmers and stitchers in their quest to make a difference by sponsoring them to complete their mission.
If you are local to Hampsthwaite and want to take part by either swimming or stitching please do get in touch.
Alternatively why not take part virtually from wherever you live in the world. Swim in your local pool or stitch in your front room.
(Don’t panic whilst someone will be swimming and stitching throughout the 24 hour period - you are free to take part for a section of time that works for you).
It’s not ok that the survival rates of this rare cancer have stayed static for the last 20 years. We need your help to change the future.
