Story

On the 21st October I will be running the Great South Run and would like to use this opportunity to raise funds to supply the Winchester Children's Community nursing team with distraction kits for the numerous children and families that they support in Hampshire.

Since Freya and Jacob's diagnosis in June 2011 these amazing ladies have supported us both at home and at the Northbrook ward in Winchester. Their visits are without fail the worst hour of our week but without them I am not sure how we would cope.

I am not looking to raise a fortune, this money won't save a life but it might just make some local families day a little less stressful. Every £1 you can spare really will help. Stickers, bubbles and "cool" plasters do make a difference but with more funds there is so much more we could provide both for visits at home and within the hospital wards and waiting rooms.

The team recently received the prestigious award for ‘most inspirational health team’ at the national WellChild Awards, recognising the compassion, dedication and incredible care they provide to sick children in the community.

These children have enough to cope with on a daily basis, please help me to make it a little bit easier. Thank you for anything you can spare
