What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Story
I have had the opportunity to go to Costa Rica in 2020 for an expedition that will be organised through Outlook Expeditions and with my school Elgin Academy. Myself and a group of pupils from the school will undertake a few projects of our choice during this expedition, one of which may be to help out at a turtle sanctuary. We will also have the choice to trek through the rainforest, cloud forests or mountains in Costa Rica.
To be able to go on this amazing expedition we all have to raise around £4,000 to be able to go.
Over the next 18 months I will be saving as much money as I can from my part time job as a waitress, babysitting and by holding many fun events for people to come to.
