I've raised £500 to help my niece Cara head out on the adventure of a lifetime and help others in Mozambique and Swaziland whilst she’s at it.

Story

I will be travelling to Swaziland and Mozambique, in order to experience a different lifestyle in a personal way which I hope will stay with me and my teammates forever. Swaziland has been greatly affected by HIV and AIDS and as a cause of this, there are 180,000 AIDS orphans in Swaziland. After setting up camp, we’ll travel to a school to speak with the children and teachers about their life, to see the hardships they face, and to help make their day a bit brighter. I’m excited to partake in projects to help them, such as construction, refurbishment, teaching, and conservation and agricultural work. There will also be opportunities for them to teach us their way of life, as we help them fetch water and learn how to help out around the village, the way they do. I believe this will be a grounding, emotional experience for my team and myself, which will change my life.

I am hoping to raise £500 for this trip. To help me to do this, I undertook the C2C (coast to coast) cycle route, biking from Whitehaven to Tynemouth in August. My dad and uncles agreed to join me and helped make this possible. It took four days, two bike repair shops, and several injuries to complete!

I hope to complete some more challenges over the next year so check back to see what else I get up to!

I would be grateful of any donations to help me achieve my target. Thank you.
