I've raised £500 to help fund the many activities of the Chiefs. One exiting event we are aiming for is the International MA Tournament in Cork in 2020.

Story

Cardiff Chiefs Rfc is a mixed ability team and a great example of why rugby is a sport for everyone.

Anyone involved with the team can’t help a great big smile creeping onto their face when talking about it. For those who have experienced it on the pitch, it’s a very simple concept – just another rugby team! But trying to explain what it is and why it works to someone who hasn’t experienced it, is much more difficult than you can imagine.

For those of you who haven’t experienced it first hand, what is the best way to describe it? Just another rugby team!

Players are not classified by disability or barrier, it is a fully inclusive team open to anyone who wants to play regular full contact rugby… for rugby sake!

Games are played in true rugby spirit where of course you want to win, but either side getting hammered on the scoreboard isn’t much fun.

We have started to build our raft and can only hope that it survives the one mile upstream race from Llandaff Rowing Club so that we can turn (somehow) and race back home preferably avoiding the fast flowing waterfalls. What could possibly go wrong?

We will be throwing ourselves wholeheartedly into this challenge and dressing up in the most ridiculous, non-waterproof outfits.

All funds raised will be shared with City Hospice who provide specialist palliative care to terminally ill people in Cardiff.
