Story

On the 16th March 2019, Cardiff University Athletics Club are planning to complete a relay along the FULL 55 MILES along the Taff Trail in aid of the 'Heads Together' campaign!!

OUR CHARITY: Initially started in 2016, the 'Heads Together campaign' has the aim of by making it OK to talk about Mental Health and to fight the negative stigma that currently surrounds it. Their aim is to help people overcome their difficulties by both sharing their stories as well as helps people struggling engage in sport through their London Marathon Initiative. In addition to their own raising awareness campaigns, money is also donated to 8 partner mental health charities including 'Mind', 'Young Minds' and 'In The Mix' which are also devoted to reducing the stigma and getting people 'talking' about mental health. Other good work includes funding staff members who provide support to families affected by trauma, employ counsellors in schools, and help to provide workshops for parents with children suffering from mental health difficulties and SO much more!

We've chosen the 'heads together' campaign because not only will the money go to so many great causes, it will also help create a society where it is OK to talk about Mental Health. As runners, we also wanted to support a campaign that promotes our sport as something that can help people who are struggling.

So please, give whatever you can and help us #starttheconversation about Mental Health.
