Story
We are a not for profit community organisation that operates and manages this 160 year old Heritage building as a community resource offering a Gallery, Community Centre, Function Rooms, Dance Hall, Commercial Kitchen, Wedding Venue and much more.
We (Menter Aberteifi) took it over from the Council in 2008 and since then have been running it on behalf of the community. We receive no regular core funding from any source and have been able to just about break even.
This year we have had major breakdowns of both the main Lift, which allows disabled access to the upper floor and also the iconic Guildhall Clock, which dominates the Cardigan skyline. In addition to this urgent remedial work is needed to cure water ingress problems with the front windows and elevations of the building. We have very little to contribute towards these costs so are hoping to crowdfund at least part of the costs.
We need to raise at least £10,000.
Whatever you can give would be gratefully received and help maintain this important heritage building and Cardigan landmark.

5 years agoJust to update you all we have almost raised all the money needed to deal with the water ingress problems through grants and we have enough raised from the community to pay for the repairs of the Clock. Thanks to M&E Pearce, Dr Alan Griffiths and Cardigan Town Council for their generous contributions, and all the members of the public who donated. We still need money to repair the lift. Up to £20,000 and we are still aiming to raise at least £5,000 and possibly £10,000 to get that done.
