Pump Tracks offer a compact, controlled facility providing riders of all ages and abilities with a progressive learning environment. Riders can learn new skills as well as develop existing skills including jumping, pumping, manualling and cornering that can be directly transferred to any discipline of cycling. Pump tracks can be used by toddlers on scoot bikes right up to seasoned professionals and everyone in-between.

Bikescape have been working closely with the Cardrona Village Association over the past few months to best determine a plan for the facility at Cardrona. After a site visit, the current facility was deemed past the stage of any worthwhile maintenance, and so a complete redevelopment proposal has been put forward. We are aiming to build a modern facility with multiple line choice, lapping capability and with low maintenance requirements.

The proposed design has been created to maximise the use of space and give riders multiple line options of varied difficulty. The use of asphalt corners allows for high roll speed/grip while also being low maintenance. Finally, a small start ramp will be added to help aid younger riders.

Funding.

We are aiming to raise £16,000 to fund the project. This will cover the materials and plant needed, the repositioning of the wooden shelter and the labour cost only from Bikescape Ltd. All consulting, design and project management fees have been waived/donated by Bikescape in order to reduce the total cost and therefore create an achievable and successful crowd funding campaign. Once raised, Bikescape Ltd will liaise with the CVA in terms of scheduling the works. The CVA is pleased that its pump n’ jump track is to be redeveloped into a modern Pump Track by industry professionals thanks to the generosity of crowdfunders.
