Story
In January, my brother underwent lung surgery to remove a tumour. Many of you know of this and know he experienced 4 cardiac arrest afterward, then was in a coma for a number of weeks. During this time, we were told to expect the worst case scenario from Drs. We believed in a miracle and Graeme was finally able to awaken. In time, he started his physio journey. He has experienced multiple difficulties and recieved further surgeries over the last few months, and is currently diagnosed with Apraxia. He requires around the clock support, but only has a short number of weeks left at the physio centre. Graeme’s recovery is an ultra marathon journey, not a sprint. And that takes much time and support to achieve. As Graeme’s hospital and the GF Strong centre are over a days drive away from his home in Canada, my parents have stayed by his side since January, helping him in every way they can. They need to stay with Graeme for some time more. He is so far away from family and is very vulnerable at this time. We are so grateful for everyone’s prayers and support so far and we continue to try and raise funds to help Graeme, Mum and Dad as much as we can. Kirstie and i will be running/cycling 100km each in June, our little people are going to do a sponsored walk across the forth road bridge, up Benarty Hill and up Arthur‘s Seat in July. In August we will be completing the 100 squat a day challenge and climbing Ben Nevis, then in September, we will complete the 5k inflatable fund raiser at Hopetown House. My nieces Khloe and Kamryn will be donating their very long hair to the little princess trust to help raise funds too. We are forever grateful for all the help we have received so far. We ask if anyone else feels compelled to help further, to donate through this Just Giving link. Graeme is working so hard every day and we just want to make sure he's getting all the help he can be to keep his recovery going. Thank you.
