Young people are often unprepared for the fast changing world of work and are either unaware of the opportunities available or bewildered by too many choices . But most pressing and damaging is the lack of skills required to excel in a work place environment even after the secure an employment. A good number of them fail to secure employment due to lack of experience of basic soft-skill and office applications (MS office packages), and even when they do, a good percentage could not hold on to their jobs, hence returning to hard labour to survive and barely live.

My burning desire to see a poverty free society led to commissioning of training materials from a renowned Canadian Business School in essential topics on soft-skills and desktop (office applications) after a robust survey and consultations. The idea was to organise free classroom training sessions to help less privileged, getting them ready to start and excel in workplace after school. These courses range from Presentation skill, Negotiation skill, MS office softwares, Outlook to Lync - starting from beginner to Advanced level.

I intended to use volunteer teachers to deliver them in classroom settings via local charity organisations. I had since realised how difficult task this could be after trying to recruit qualified volunteer Teachers. It was then decided to leverage on technology to deliver those courses online, which will make it earlier to manage at the top level from anywhere in the world - not necessarily having to be present in any particular locality at any given time. Delivery online will also enhance accessibility and wider outreach.

The response to the launch so far has been amazing. We are at the second stage of development, which will include more soft skill courses and the desktop office applications. There is also need to fund digital marketing campaign to spread the word and get lot more students ready for swift sail in their career.
