Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!!

My name is Cari and on April 1st (not an April’s fool but an important date, I’ll explain why below) I’ll be shaving my hair!!

I have decided to fundraise for 2 charities, with half of the money going to each.

👸🏼 The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides wigs to children who have lost their own due to cancer treatments. I’ll also be donating my hair to them which I have been growing for the last 4 years (now reaching roughly 22inches 🥳).

🐱Tŷ Nant Cat Sanctuary is an amazing cat rescue organisation based in South Wales, they rescue unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens, including FIV positive cats.

**Now to the date, April 1st. I have decided to shave my hair on this date as it’s the last before I have to self isolate.

In February 2020 I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma, a benign brain tumour. The tumour is located between my left inner ear and the brainstem. Due to covid, my appointments with specialist had been delayed but as the tumour has grown (getting a little to close to the brainstem for the doctors liking) they have decided to operate and remove it. Due to its location, after my surgery I will be deaf in my left ear, suffer with temporary balance issues and potential facial nerve paralysis. But all these side affects can be overcome with time.

While the surgery only requires a shaved area around my left ear, I’ve decided to shave it all!!

I’m hoping to raise as much money for these charities as covid have effected them severely. It will also give me an opportunity to make a positive impact from a negative experience.
