My wonderful funky dad Toshi has been diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer. He hasn't eaten for 6 weeks & has only been able to swallow liquids and has lost 15kgs (2.5stone) in the process. He'd done 1 week of radiotherapy when he was taken to hospital because of an "asthma attack". After 6 days & 2 hospitals they worked out it was the tumour causing the coughs. On Thursday they added a metal piece to close a hole between his food and wind pipes-this now means he can't have radiotherapy.
There are other holes in his food pipe which have to be filled or he can't even drink water-This operation is v high risk & not recommended. He is too weak for chemo so he needs nutrition first, possibly through tubes to his stomach. The situation changes daily & the costs are mounting. I've just found out the hospital room alone costs £400/night & the health insurance only covers £80/day. I've no idea what the total bill for all the medicine & operations will come to. My dad and stepmum Saori are really fighting their hardest and were already struggling financially, and I don't want them to have to worry about getting him the best care or have any option unavailable to them for financial reasons. I realise just giving pages are for charities, Kilimanjaro climbs or for really young children fighting for their lives, and not for 60 year old Japanese "rockers", and would not be asking for your help if we did not need to. I also realise there are far bigger problems & lots of causes more worthier of your attention. However if for some reason you feel our cause is worth helping, please donate and share this with any friends or family you may think would be interested.
I've no idea what to put as the target amount, but I promise any left over amount will be used wisely for my Super Yacht in the Bahamas. I also promise to climb any mountain and do as many marathons as you guys tell me to. Please don't feel any amount is too small, Kaye, Teo & I will be eternally grateful.
