HELP BRING HOPE TO A CHILD LEAVING THE CARE SYSTEM
I am a teacher at a secondary school in Keighley, West Yorkshire trying to find a home for a bright 17 yr old A level student in order for him to complete his A level studies, and go to university in September 2019.
He is unfortunately about to be made homeless as we cannot find anybody to act as a guarantor for his tenancy following leaving care. I am trying to raise the full years rent in advance as then a guarantor would not be necessary. This child is without parents and Bradford Children‘s Social Services have declined to act as guarantor, offering only to act as guarantor for a month. This will undoubtedly mean our student will probably not finish his A level studies as the emergency private accomodation is unsuitable for a minor,a distance from school and not an appropriate environment for study.
All money donated would be paid back to donaters at the end of the year in August 2019, this is more an interest free loan than a donation.
Just a quick search on google will reveal the extent of the problem that this most vulnerable of groups faces. We have one goal ; warm, suitable ,safe accomodation for our student for one year so he can be succesful and set out with a bright future on an academic course at a top university.
If you could loan money for one year or if you wish to donate please do. I have kept the name of the school and student anonymous but should you wish to email me prior to donation/ loan my email is sallylayas@gmail.com, should you require proof. Thanks so much for reading this.
