In July 2013, my brothers girlfriend (Ailsa Malcolm Hutton) was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease, its a horrible disease but she is an unbelievably strong and inspiring person. She has a daughter (My niece) called Izzy, who is now 10 years old. We have raised money for Ailsa & also for the MND Association with different events & in 2014 I decided to participate in a physical challenge each year to raise some money for Izzy's future.

The first year (2014) I tried distance running and completed the Manchester 10k in just over an hour, and raising £550.00 Year 2 (2015) I took on Tough Mudder, which was 13.2 miles of mud, fire, water, ice, electricity, mud and more mud, I completed this with my good friend Paul Lomas and we finished in just under 4 hours, raising £450.00. Year 3 I was training for the Manchester Half Marathon and unfortunately had to pull out due to a knee injury and on doctors orders, this was very frustrating as I was running in October 2016 and didn't have time to complete an event last year. This year I am back and feeling good, so I have decided to try the Manchester to Liverpool bike ride on 11th June 2017 with my buddy James Dickson. This is a 40 mile ride in total!

Of course Izzy is my niece, my family and we are very close which is my number one reason fo, but also my brother has given up work to look after Ailsa and become her carer.

The money will be used for a special day in Izzy's life, maybe her wedding day for instance so my brother doesn't have to shoulder this on his own if god forbid Izzy's mummy is no longer with us.
