Story

The band are reforming this year with a few new team members. We decided to support a charity closer to home & have selected The Hunter Centre in Haslemere, Worplesdon’s Golf Club charity of choice for 2019.

The Hunter Centre is a charity established to support those living with dementia in Haslemere and the surrounding areas. No County boundaries exist and everyone is welcome who feels they could benefit from being in a small friendly community which understands the problems associated with dementia.

So what are you sponsoring us to do and “where's the effort” we hear you say!!

It's a Golf Marathon !! 72 holes / 4 rounds in one day, approx 40km.

As with last year I intend to carry my clubs over the 50,000 or so steps, with 1 difference .... I'll be attending a Ball in London the night before and attempting the feat with less sleep and more alcohol.

9 of us are looking forward to the challenge which will T off around 5:30am, hopefully finishing around 7/8pm.

If all goes well I'll repeat the challenge again next year therefore, since you are the only people I know and therefore also the ones who sponsored me last year, I'd kindly ask for MAX £10 donations (2 pints of San Miquel in Worplesdon money). If all 9 of us get 20-30 such donations then we will clear the £2000 target.

Thanks from the team
