Hi Everyone!

As some of you know I'm Carla Breen and I am currently in my final year of Adult Nursing in Edinburgh Napier University. Next year in February I am travelling to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania to volunteer in Amana Hospital for four weeks. I plan to work within Accident and Emergency, Orthopaedics, Theatres and Gynaecology.

The main reason for this fundraising page is that I hope to raise some money for basic medical equipment I want to provide while in Tanzania. Although this will be a fantastic learning opportunity for me, I want to give back as much as i can while I'm there. I hope that by providing some equipment that the issues of reused needles, poor hygiene or spread of infection can be minimised and the patients can be cared for in a safer environment.

I also hope, when not working, I can get the chance to visit orphanages and local schools and provide children with toys, clothing and supplies.
