Story

This is Dah'Doh, a baby rhesus macaque. At only a few weeks old, he was taken from his mum and handed over to the person who ordered him to be kidnapped. We can only presume that mum, like most others, was killed during the kidnapping. If not, she will have been wandering her area, crying for her baby, for months, hoping he returned.

They never return.

Dah'Doh, was purchased to be a performance monkey and like other performance monkeys, suffered nothing but abuse for the first few months of his life but has thankfully been taken away from that. Unfortunately, the monkey trade in Pakistan is a big issue. These babies are beaten until they perform to earn their owners money. When they get too old, or too sick to perform, they're either killed or thrown out on the streets to fend for themselves and more often than not, don't survive.

Our plan is to build a sanctuary for these beautiful animals, complete with medical area and hospital, so they won't ever need to be transported or moved again. Along with monkeys, S.A.S will be home to stray dogs and cats. Stray dogs are viewed as vermin and often culled by way of shooting or poisoning. Those who aren't culled, are at risk of being involved in RTA's and those who survive are often left with severe disabilities.

S.A.S is located in Swat, Pakistan and is in the process of gaining NGO status. We aim to not only provide a permanent home to these animals but also, education to the public to help reinforce the rights of animals and reduce animal cruelty.
