Story
For anyone who knows me well knows that I am a terrible swimmer! I can just about do breaststroke which turns into more of a doggy paddle once I get tired!
So I've decided to do the great North swim! Sensible I know, but I'm determined to learn front crawl by the time the event comes round and at least it will be a proper challenge for me!
It's been a difficult year already for many people which is why I've decided to try and raise money to do this challenge.
Many of you will know that in January this year my mam was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is currently undergoing chemo at Shotley Bridge and has found this, obviously, a very negative experience but has praised the staff there. It's for this reason that I would like to donate half of all funds raised to the chemotherapy ward in shotley bridge hospital to get better equipment and make the areas that the patients receive their chemo in a more comfortable environment.
The other half of any donations I receive I would like to donate to CALM in memory of Sam Gordon. CALM is the Campaign Against Living Miserably and is leading a movement against male suicide. Sam was a lovely lad who always had a smile on his face. Hopefully raising money for this charity will help more men like Sam realise there is light at the end of the tunnel and help offer support to those in need.
I will be so grateful for any donations as I know it will help many people in the worst situations.
