In the summer of 2017, I will be travelling with 9 school colleagues to Norway, where we will be undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award. The trip will involve a challenging expedition through Norwegian terrain, where we will camp and fend for ourselves for over a week.
On completion of the award, we will have the honour of attending a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The expedition will give me new skills for example, leadership skills, teamwork skills and thinking independently. The award will also involve months of volunteering and I will spend 12 months learning a new skill and undertake a physical activity. The various activities will be of great benefit to me while I continue my education and eventually move on to the start of a career.
