I'm raising £20000 to honour and support directly the work of the Urology Departments in Luton & Dunstable, Mount Vernon, and Royal Marsden Hospitals.

My name is Carl O'Reilly, and with a friend of mine Scott Jell we're raising money for an important cause. On December 18, 2018, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I had my prostate removed on February 14, 2019, at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London. While everything seemed fine at first, my PSA levels started to rise again. As a result, I was put on hormone treatment, which involved one month of hormone tablets, followed by six monthly injections. I was also given radiotherapy and continued treatment at Mount Vernon Hospital in Rickmansworth.
At present, I am still undergoing regular tests to monitor my condition, and while the journey has been challenging, I remain hopeful. In light of the excellent care I’ve received from the Urology Departments at Luton & Dunstable Hospital, The Royal Marsden, and Mount Vernon Hospital, my wife and I have decided to give back by raising funds to support the vital work they do
To accomplish this, next year, my friend Scott Jell and I will be walking The Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage route spanning 800 kilometres over 30 days. We will begin our journey in St. Jean Pied de Port and finish in Santiago de Compostela. We aim to raise awareness and gather donations that will be directed to the Urology Departments that provided me with such excellent care, helping future patients on their cancer journey
I kindly ask for your support, whether through sponsorship of our walk or by contributing directly to the cause. No matter the size, every contribution will make a difference and help fund research, treatments, and patient support services
Thank you for your time and consideration. Your generosity will not only support me on this personal journey but will also contribute to a future where others can have the best chance of overcoming cancer
