I am a third year student midwife at the University of Central Lancashire and have been given the opportunity to take my elective placement volunteering in Uganda through a charity Knowledge for Change. The charity aims to improve the standard of Healthcare provision for the poorest members of society in low- and middle-income countries whilst providing learning opportunities for UK students.

By supporting me to take part in this experience you would help to give me the opportunity to make a real difference through supporting women, babies, their families in a rural health centre in Uganda, with very minimal resources. This would give me a experience that would be far from the training I have undertaken over the last 3 years in the UK!

I am also hoping to take with me some of our daily hygiene essentials such as toothbrushes/paste soaps etc. of which are very limited in Uganda.
