Guzmán holds a cherished place in Argentina’s musical heritage. Her evocative guitar works, poetry, and deep connection to folk traditions bridges the classical and the popular, the intimate and the universal. Though she was admired in her lifetime, many of her compositions - particularly her unpublished works - remain unjustly hidden from the global stage.

In celebration of her centenary in 2025, I'm working together with the amazing team at Pixaudio to undertake a major recording project that will feature world premiere recordings of Guzmán’s unpublished and previously unrecorded works. The project will cost £5000 and I have already personally raised £1000 towards it so your additional support will cover costs including: studio hire, sound recording and post-production, graphic design and packaging, CD production and project management. As well as being the first album fully dedicated to her music, it will also be my debut album and I am so excited to share it with the world! The recording will commence in Autumn 2025, with a single being released at the end of year and the full album released in Spring 2026.

This recording is more than a tribute: it is a necessary act of cultural preservation and artistic recognition. Carmen Guzmán gave voice to a rich and lyrical Argentine tradition. With your support, we can give voice to her unheard music, restoring it to the living repertoire where it belongs.
