CASE a unique project that aims to help the community which is a bright and multi-cultural one to overcome some of the issues they face. We need funds for resources as we want to continue with our inter-generational activities, that we are doing weekly at the moment. We believe that our seniors have a lot to offer the younger generation and visa versa. The isolation has become quite big in the area of Handsworth , with the seniors families, may have moved and with the youngsters it can be family breakdown. We want to do more cook and share and play activities . Some of the younger people know nothing about the barriers that the seniors have faced and visa verse. We want to continue to have fun and friendship. We have been doing this for more than 18 months with no funding and it is growing we have seniors in their 90 meeting with children from 8 months up that have no interactions with seniors. One of the statements we was told by the seniors was being around the children is like have grand children around them and also the young families say they enjoy listening to the elders.We believe that by encouraging connection between the seniors will lead to the increase of social and community connections, thereby generating a positive attitude towards one another. To provide high quality support to help them feeling good about themselves. Breaking down barriers to engage by providing a healthy and free activity, involving local people in the design of the activity .Our service will be helping them to become more active and give them more support and choice for socialising with others. I believe passionately about this project that is why I have continued with the cause. We have had no funding and it maybe because they may not believe in the cause. I will continue with this because of the two groups I am working with the seniors and the young because I will give HOPE where I can. I believe I am making a change even though it might be small. That is what CASE is all about you dont have to be a mother you just have to CARE.
