Weʼve raised £430 to Rebuild and refurbish Playa Prieta School in Ecuador which was destroyed in an earthquake in April 2016
- Funded on Thursday, 8th June 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
I will undertake a 495 mile walk on the Camino Way in Spain starting the 19th August 2017 and ending on the 30th September 2017.
I will be doing the walk to raise funds to assist the rebuilding of Playa Prieta Primary School in Ecuador which was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 2016. As a retired teacher I was inspired by Sister Clare Crocket a teacher form Derry who died while trying to evacuate children from the school as the earthquake struck. I am therefore also doing this walk in memory of Sister Clare and the children who died there.
The money raised will go towards the rebuilding and refurbishment of the school which has already started. A few buildings in Playa Prieta have been turned into provisional classrooms while the school is being rebuilt by the Servant Sisters of the House of the Mother Order in Ecuador.
Any donation of any kind will greatly assist towards getting the school rebuilt in order provide an education for the children of Playa de Prieta and to help them overcome the trauma they experienced in 2016.
You can help this cause by donating through my JustGiving page. It couldn’t be easier: you can pay here by using your debit card, credit card or PayPal.
