Story

To buy a new baby incubator for the Paediatrics Department of Ifako-Ijaiye Hospital in Nigeria. Ifako-Ijaiye is a secondary healthcare service located in a densely populated area of Lagos. The hospital sees about 17,000 out-patients each month, 80% of inpatients are maternal and childcare patients. During a holiday in Nigeria I visited and et Medical Director Dr Amure Olufola.

I was very impressed with the service they provide but as Dr Olufola pointed out their resources and equipment are very stretched. Having had a 10 week premature baby in the UK I know what a precious service neonatal departments provide and this is the same at Ifako-Ijaiye Hospital. The Unit needs 10 baby incubators to cope with demand. Each one cost £1000. Please help by sponsoring my Great East Swim 1/2 mile on the 22nd June 2019.
