Our beloved friend JB passed away on 18th February. Sadly his only family decided that they didn‘t want to take responsibility for his home, possessions or his funeral arrangements. Over the past few weeks, we have been doing our best to finalise JB‘s affairs as much as possible and make arrangements for his funeral. We originally set up a fundraiding page to raise money to help with this.

The funeral will be held on Monday April 1st at 10am at Markeaton Crematorium.

We initially had some good news from JB’s bank, telling us that the third party funeral fees that we have already paid would be covered and that there were additional funds which would be released to cover the remaining balance. With this in mind, we cancelled the page and asked for the donations to be returned. Unfortunately, the additional funds are not enough to cover the outstanding balance of the funeral.

So, we are asking again for your donations to help us give JB the send off he deserves. All that is needed is £1850 for the funeral - any amount you can manage would be appreciated to help us with this.

We will also be separately covering the cost of a wake here at The Talbot after the service so that we can all raise a glass to our friend.
