Story
Julie and Tony are well known members of the community, Julie being a Badsey girl from birth and Tony Joining her in marriage in 2016
Julie has suffered with osteoarthritis for some years now which has deteriorated to a debilitating condition. A short time ago she was rushed into hospital with us all thinking it was her Osteoarthritis however the shock diagnosis was an aggressive Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer which has spread to her stomach
Her response was her usual “ It is what it is …I better put my big girl pants on and get fighting “ and “ we are going to snuggle up and ride the storm”
Their motto is “ when life gives you lemons you make lemonade”
They are both fighters and the battle will be a tough one. In their unique approach all we are getting is praise from them.
They say …
“Tomorrow is first Chemo day ( Thank you NHS for getting me to this stage so quickly im forever grateful….Dont worry guys my lucky “POO” mascot is in the bag We just need to pull our big pants on and go through the doors
”First lot of treatments under our belts. Rough as a badgers arse but we are going to snuggle up and ride the storm” … “ We have received the most amazing experience given the circumstances and met the most amazing inspirational cancer warriors which has been truly inspiring. Those nurses are angels and we feel truly blessed”
They are so considerate of other even when the odds are against them Their positivity kindness and thoughtfulness for others in an inspiration
Julie is conducting a blogg on her facebook page to keep everyone updated as she goes through hopefully a successful treatment
We will also include updates on the just giving page
Julie and Tony are fighters, we will be a support to them and we hope funds raised can help them through this awful time
We also send best wishes to her children grandchildren and friends and our thought are with them too
THE CAUSE
Julie and Tony live on the Orchards in Evesham. They have both received bad news in the last few weeks which has been devastating for them their family and friends.
Julie, who has suffered for few years with osteoarthritis was rushed into hospital only to diagnosed with stage 3 Ovarian cancer which has spread to her stomach
We wish to raise funds for them to help through Julies Chemotherapy and after with hopefully rehabilitation and also care for Tony
Funds raised can be used by them for any equipment treatments and rehabilitation and will be a great help to them physically and mentally
OUR FUNDRAISER PLAN
Myself, my son Samuel-James, and friends William and Jack have a dad and boys night out every three weeks to MGC barbers in Evesham for our haircut. We were discussing Julie and the latest update and the fact she will be shaving her head to avoid the heartache of watching her hair fall out. The boys suggested a “Sponsored Shave Off” where we all shaved our heads to raise money for them
Our barber Nikki then offered to donate his time to do the shaving so the gig was on We then thought a good venue to shave the heads would be the local pub used by Julie and Tony and hence off we trotted to “The Bridge In and Ferry “ at offenham
We asked the Landlord Alistair if we could hold the event at the pub and not only did he say yes but also offered to shave his head too
We shared the plan with friends who are very supportive and a few have also offered to shave heads, In comes ANOTHER Nikki, Nikki of Stylicious Hair Design Evesham who has also offered her time to shave any heads
The “ Bridge Inn and Ferry” “ Baldilocks Show “ will be the 29th March 2024 ( Shaving planned for 7pm)
Please come and see the show,( or join in if your brave ) make your donation to the just giving page and bring cash for the Raffle to be held on the night with some great prizes
