On 25th October, I’ll be doing something I never thought I’d do, shaving my head!

But this one is for two very special people, and two true Hoylake ladies’ rugby legends, Claire and Pippa.

Claire and Pippa mean so much to so many people in our community. Both were diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at just 39 years old and, in their own different ways, they have shown incredible strength, courage and grace while facing something no young family should ever have to face.

Claire is battling endometrial stromal sarcoma, while Pippa is facing stage 4 EGFR-positive lung cancer.

They are both incredibly special friends, and this is our small way of showing them just how much they mean to us.

The head shave will take place on 25th October at Chris Cain Salon in Hoylake, and every penny raised will go directly to Claire and Pippa and their families, helping them to live life to the full, make memories and spend precious time with the people closest to them.

I’ll be honest… I’m not particularly looking forward to losing my curls. But if losing them for a while can help these two amazing women and their families make some very special memories, then it’ll be more than worth it.
